Melissa + Jordan's wedding at Southern Grace Farms

Alyson Jean Events was hired for month-of coordination to help make Melissa's vision a reality on her wedding day. Melissa was a dream to work with from the beginning, one of the sweetest, kindest and most laid back brides. From her invitation suite, to her custom cake knives made out of deer antlers, to her DIY florals - Melissa had so many unique design ideas that we loved getting to implement!

Melissa and Jordan fell in love with Southern Grace Farms for their wedding venue because of the down home feel it has to offer. These two love birds have a shared passion for hunting turkey and deer and Melissa wanted to incorporate their hobby into the wedding somehow. She and her Mom worked tirelessly to put together florals and centerpieces, but with a flare! Turkey feathers were featured in each and every floral arrangement, as a nod to the couple.

Southern Grace Farms offers a country feel with a barn venue just outside of Raleigh, in Angier, NC. When you arrive, you are greeted with twenty-two acres of green pasture, and plenty of furry friends to say hello on your drive in. The venue also holds a gorgeous pond as a ceremony space, a Groom's cottage, a Bridal Suite and a barn for the reception. You can understand why Melissa envisioned her wedding here!

The bridesmaids spent the morning getting pampered in the bridal suite by Pinup Bridal. All the while the groom and his groomsmen fished in the fully stocked pond that would later make the backdrop for Melissa and Jordan's ceremony. The groom's cottage holds fishing poles that are fully rigged, and a bathroom with a shower to freshen up after. White Melissa slipped on her dress and cowgirl boots, Jordan and his groomsmen were able to get gussied up in their grey suits accompanied by boutonnieres with turkey feathers.

Melissa and Jordan said their "I do's" with their closest family and friends in front of the pond and then later made their way up to the barn for an intimate reception. Melissa's smile lit up the entire room as she went around to each table to show off her new bling and the fan favorite - her wedding boots!

Their day was full of so much love and to wrap it all up, Melissa wanted her exit to be something unique. Strings of market lights were passed back and forth and made the perfect photo-worthy exit. Just before the couple made their big getaway in their classic car, the bride and groom had one last dance together. They shared their private last dance to the same song Melissa walked down the aisle to, "Sand in My boots" by Morgan Wallen, that Melissa had specially recorded on the violin by Philip Bowen music... another sweet nod to their relationship.
